Hiking in the Eifel and lake Rur!
Hey! It’s really hot these days, why not enjoy a great day in a beautiful lake with great people!? This time we are hiking in the area of Eifel and swim in the lake Rur!

So the plan is as follows: we’re gonna see each other at Düsseldorf Hbf at 08:30. Then:
- Dep: 08:58 Düsseldorf Hbf – Platform 16 (RE 5 (28509))
- Arr: 09:29 Köln Hbf – Platform 9 D-G
- Dep: 09:47 Köln Hbf – Platform 8 (RE 9 (10908))
- Arr: 10:12 Düren – Platform 1
- Dep: 10:20 Düren – Platform 4 a (RTB RB21 (90806))
- Arr: 10:56 Abenden – Platform XXX
Then we start hiking. Easy, isn’t it? If you come from a different city, feel free to join us wherever you want on the way!
Then we’ll walk according to this map (in kml-format) or this map (in gpx-format). The total distance is something like 17.4km. We’ll have a break in the lake Rur (where we can swim!!). The total duration of the hike according to Komoot is 4:56. We will probably be back in Düsseldorf Hbf around 18:30 (with considerable uncertainty). Komoot says this track is of average difficulty. So don’t think too much and just enjoy! It would be helpful if you’d bring something to eat and a picnic blanket. You are also very welcome to bring a ball/frisbee, a guitar and more!
Regardless of the weather, I will NOT cancel the event, so please check it out yourselves and decide whether to come or not yourselves.
