    Hiking from Wuppertal-Vohwinkel to Neviges!

This summer is quite difficult to understand. We’ve been going through a roller coaster which this week reached maybe its lowest point, which was rather fortunate, since today’s hike wasn’t so deep in the nature. Well, not so deep in…

    Hiking from Hagen-Westerbauer to Heubing!

You might have noticed that we did not go to Hagen for quite some time now. The reason is simple: we went there too often. So I waited a few weeks until today to make everyone forget Hagen, which today…

Hiking from Essen to Velbert and Street Food and Music Festival!

There’s this city called Velbert, which is certainly not the biggest city in the Ruhr area, but one middle sized city. This city doesn’t have a train station, so that it makes it quite difficult for a group of up…

Hiking from Güldenwerth to Schaberg and Schlossburg!
Hey! Did you know that our region is full of great monuments and constructions? Let’s explore them with a lot of cool people! This time we are hiking from Güldenwerth to Schaberg, to go over the medieval castle Güldenwerth and the highest railway bridge of Germany at Schaberg! Download kml / gpx So the plan is as follows: we’re gonna see each other at Düsseldorf Hbf at 10:30. Then: Dep: 10:55 Düsseldorf Hbf – Platform 11 (S 1) Arr: 11:17 Solingen Hbf – Platform 10 Dep: 11:22 Solingen Hbf – Platform 9 (VIA S7) Arr: 11:39 Remscheid-Güldenwerth – Platform 1 Then we start hiking. Easy, isn’t it? If you come from a different city, feel free to join us wherever you want on the way! Then we’ll walk according to this map (in kml-format) or this map (in gpx-format). The total distance is something like 15.9km. We’ll have a break at Schlossburg. The total duration of the hike according to Komoot is 4:33. We will probably be back in Düsseldorf Hbf around 17:30 (with considerable uncertainty). Komoot says this track is of average difficulty. So don’t think too much and just enjoy! It would be helpful if you’d bring something to eat and a picnic blanket. You are also very welcome to bring a ball/frisbee, a guitar and more! Regardless of the weather, I will NOT cancel the event, so please check it out yourselves and decide whether to come or not yourselves. For further useful info read this (highly recommended). Easter trip to Porto!
Hey! It’s again Easter – and this time it happens to include my birthday! So I decided to organize a group to trip to this beautiful city, Porto! Let’s enjoy the great weekend there together! I booked two apartments (Apartment I, Apartment II) for 10 people each. If there are not enough people, we will stay in one of them. It’s going to be 150€ per person in total. As it turned out that there were several people arriving on the 5th and leaving on the 11th, you can also take this option – in this case it’s 220€ per person. I don’t organize the trip to Porto, so do it yourself ? Prelude (Apr 5, Wednesday) Not programme yet. You can get the keys from 3pm Day I (Apr 6, Thursday) We can have a short trip from Régua to Lamego. We can take a bus back from Lamego to Régua afterwards and then back by train. Day II (Apr 7, Friday) We are going to hike in the vineyards of the Douro valley. Day III (Apr 8, Saturday) My birthday 🙂 Maybe day trip to Braga (oldest city in Portugal?) Day IV (Apr 9, Sunday) Hiking in Valongo Day V (Apr 10, Monday) In principle only departure. Maybe we can also hike in Viana do Castelo according to the route above. Postscript (Apr 11, Tuesday) Departure for the people flying. List of participants Note for people planning to sign up: flights are fairly expensive, so you might be interested to check it out beforehand Rohith (5-11) Saki Amalia Sarah (6-11) Madhuri (5-11) Aaron (5-11) Aseel Shrijal (5-11) Niloofar Sam Planning scratch: Is it interesting to rent cars? Cláudia’s recommendations: Porto São Bento Train Station Capela das Almas (or Capela de Santa Catarina) Livraria Lello Torre dos Clérigos Palácio da Bolsa Sé do Porto Ribeira (near by the banks of the Douro river) Caves do vinho do Porto (if you want to try some Porto Wine) Parque da Cidade do Porto (green area and near by coast) Parque de Serralves (green area)
