Hiking from Werdohl to Altena castle!
Hey! Enjoying the Easter weekend? There might be a way to enjoy it even more with us! This time I’m proposing a hike from Werdohl to Altena with a lovely castle at the end of the trail inside an extremely beautiful hilly region!
Attention: This trail is around 40% longer than usual and it is indeed fairly hilly, so if you are not physically fit, then you might want to think about joining us another time.
So the plan is as follows: we’re gonna see each other in front of Düsseldorf Hbf at 9:45. Then:
- Departure: Düsseldorf Hbf platform XXX (probably 7) at 10:12 (RE 13)
- Arrival: Hagen Hbf platform 3 at 10:55
- Departure: Hagen Hbf platform 10 at 11:15 (RE 16)
- Arrival: Werdohl platform 2 at 11:48
Then we start hiking. Easy isn’t it? Werdohl is not within VRR so we have to buy a ticket from Hohenlimburg. We can talk about it while waiting for the train probably.
Then we’ll walk according to this map (in kml-format) or this map (in gpx-format). The total distance is something like 20 km. We’ll have a break at Elfenfohren. It would be helpful if you’d bring something to eat and a picnic blanket. You are also very welcome to bring a ball/frisbee, a guitar and more!
Regardless of the weather, I will NOT cancel the event, so please check it out yourselves and decide whether to come or not yourselves.
