Hiking from Essen to Velbert and Street Food and Music Festival!
Hey! Wondering what would be the best way to enjoy summer without going far away? Just join us and see yourself how easy it is! This time, I’m proposing a hike from Essen Kupferdreh to Velbert, where this weekend’s street food and music festival is going to be taking place!
So the plan is quite simple: we’re gonna see each other in front of Düsseldorf Hbf. at 10:15. Then:
- Departure: Düsseldorf Hbf platform 10 at 10:36 (RE11)
- Arrival: Essen Hbf platform 6 at 11:11
- Departure: Essen Hbf platform 11 at 11:21 (S9)
- Arrival: Essen-Kupferdreh platform 1 at 11:33
Then we start hiking. Easy, isn’t it? The fastest connection from Düsseldorf to Kupferdreh is with a layover at Wuppertal, but in order to make it easier for those coming from Essen I took this connection (so you won’t see this one when you look it up on your phone). If you come from a different city, feel free to join us wherever you want on the way! It’s within the VRR region so if you have a Ticket 2000/Semester ticket/Young Ticket Plus, you can travel there for free. Even if you don’t it’s very likely that someone can take you for free so just be there in time!
Then we’ll walk according to this map (in kml-format) or this map (in gpx-format). The total distance is something like 13 km. We’ll have a break at Landhaus Stolberg. It would be helpful if you’d bring something to eat and a picnic blanket. You are also very welcome to bring a ball/frisbee, a guitar and more!
Regardless of the weather, I will NOT cancel the event, so please check it out yourselves and decide whether to come or not yourselves.
