Weekend trip to Offenburg
Hey! Finally we’re going to make one of our dreams come true! We’re going to the Black Forest! This time I’m proposing a weekend trip to Offenburg, which lies in the middle of the Black Forest!
Day I (Juli 23, Friday):
We’re gonna see each other at Düsseldorf. Our journey will look like this:
- Dep: 17:02 Düsseldorf Hbf – Platform 15 (ICE 613)
- Arr: 19:23 Mannheim Hbf – Platform 5
- Dep: 19:35 Mannheim Hbf – Platform 4 (ICE 375)
- Arr: 20:34 Offenburg – Platform 1
Then we’ll directly go to the hostel in Ortenberg (where we’re gonna stay).
Day II (Juli 24, Saturday):

Day III (Juli 25, Sunday):
We will go to Strasbourg with the following train connection:
- Dep: 10:05 Offenburg – Platform 4 (SWE87422)
- Arr: 10:32 Strasbourg
Don’t forget to get a test beforehand (cf. this page).
We’ll go back to Düsseldorf with the train below:
- Dep: 15:27 Offenburg – Platform 3 (ICE 276)
- Arr: 16:24 Mannheim Hbf – Platform 2
- Dep: 16:36 Mannheim Hbf – Platform 3 (ICE 516)
- Arr: 18:48 Düsseldorf Hbf – Platform 18
As always, I already booked everything (for 10 people this time). With the train ticket and the stay at the hostel, it’s going to cost 150€ per person. As always, you’re also very welcome to organise the stuff yourself (transport+hotel) in which case there’s of course nothing to pay 🙂

Hi all, i would like to give a few ideas/suggestions on where to hike during this trip.
1) hiking to Allerheiligen-Wasserfälle
Offenburg Hbf – Bahnhof Ramsbach Birkhof (train goes once an hour or every 2 hours) From Bahnhof Ramsbach it is about 8km walk to Allerheiligen-Wasserfälle.
2) Hiking close to Offenburg. Check these 4 trails:

3) Walking around the Gifiz-See (about 3km) might be a good walk for Sunday.
