Hiking from Nideggen to Heimbach
Hey! Only dreaming of going abroad to see a beautiful landscape? There’s no need for that! Let’s explore the beautiful Eifel area with other cool people! This time we’re hiking from Nideggen to Heimbach, going along the Rur!

So the plan is as follows: we’re gonna see each other at Düsseldorf Hbf at 08:15. Then:
- Dep: 08:40 Düsseldorf Hbf – Platform 16 (RE 1 (26812))
- Arr: 09:38 Düren – Platform 1
- Dep: 10:20 Düren – Platform 4 a (RTB RB21 (90806))
- Arr: 10:53 Nideggen-Brück – Platform XXX
Then we start hiking. Easy, isn’t it? If you come from a different city, feel free to join us wherever you want on the way! You can take the train with your 9-euro ticket!
Then we’ll walk according to this map (in kml-format) or this map (in gpx-format). The total distance is something like 18.1km. We’ll have a break somewhere on the way. The total duration of the hike according to Komoot is 5:25. We will probably be back in Düsseldorf Hbf around 19:00. Komoot says this track is difficult. So make sure that you are well prepared! It would be helpful if you’d bring something to eat and a picnic blanket. You are also very welcome to bring a ball/frisbee, a guitar and more!
Regardless of the weather, I will NOT cancel the event, so please check it out yourselves and decide whether to come or not yourselves.
