Hiking around Aachen and German-Dutch-Belgian triple point!
Hey! We live in this area of Germany that allows us to visit the nearby countries. Why not take advantage of it? This time we are hiking to the German-Belgian-Dutch border near Aachen, a beautiful area that you should not miss!!

So the plan is quite simple: we’re gonna see each other at Düsseldorf Hbf at 09:15. Then:
- Dep: 09:40 Düsseldorf Hbf – Platform 16 (RE 1 (26814))
- Arr: 11:07 Aachen Hbf – Platform 8
Then we start hiking. Easy, isn’t it? If you come from a different city, feel free to join us wherever you want on the way! It’s not within the VRR region, but within NRW, so students can travel for free! Those who have a monthly ticket can travel there with an EinfachWeiterTicket!
Then we’ll walk according to this map (in kml-format) or this map (in gpx-format). The total distance is something like 16.3km. We’ll have a break at the triple point. The total duration of the hike according to Komoot is 4:35. We will probably be back in Düsseldorf Hbf around 17:45. Komoot says this track is of average difficulty. So don’t think too much and just enjoy! It would be helpful if you’d bring something to eat and a picnic blanket. You are also very welcome to bring a ball/frisbee, a guitar and more!
Regardless of the weather, I will NOT cancel the event, so please check it out yourselves and decide whether to come or not yourselves.
