Hiking from Honrath to Overath
Hey! Germany might not be the country for vacation, but there’s still so much to see in the neighborhood! Let’s see how nice our surrounding area is! This time I’m proposing a hike from Honrath to Overath, a beautiful area in the Bergisches Land!

So the plan is as follows: we’re gonna see each other in front of Düsseldorf Hbf at 10:15am. Then:
- Dep: 10:41 Düsseldorf Hbf – Platform 4 (RE 26816)
- Arr: 11:15 Köln Messe/Deutz – Platform 8
- Dep: 11:26 Köln Messe/Deutz Gl. 9-10 – Platform 9 (RB 10540)
- Arr: 11:51 Honrath – Platform 1
Then we start hiking. Easy, isn’t it? If you come from a different city, feel free to join us wherever you want on the way! Thanks to the summer promotion of the train companies, you can travel for free if you have any monthly ticket in NRW, and you can take also one person for free! Then we’ll walk according to this map (in kml-format) or this map (in gpx-format). The total distance is something like 14.6 km. We’ll have a break at Bleifeld. It would be helpful if you’d bring something to eat and a picnic blanket.
Regardless of the weather, I will NOT cancel the event, so please check it out yourselves and decide whether to come or not yourselves.
