Weekend trip to Liège!

Bonjours à tous! Your holidays may have been cancelled, but we can still enjoy trips to other countries! This time I’m proposing a weekend trip to Liège!

The plan is quite simple: we’re gonna see each other at the Liège youth hostel in the evening of August 7 (Friday). Feel free to come whenever you want. I’m arriving at 4:44 at Liège Guillemins. We’ll (maybe) have dinner at l’industrie.

The next day, we’ll hike according to the map below. Afterwards, we’ll (maybe) have dinner at bruit qui court.

On Sunday, we’ll take a train to Eijsden (train leaving at 9:08, 10:08, 11:08 etc.). Then we walk towards the famous Saint Peter’s caves near Maastricht. For this, first we cross the Maas via Cramignon and walk according to the map below. The visit costs 9,50€ per person – feel free to decide whether you want to join or not. In the end, we’ll walk to Maastricht and take a train back to Aachen, from where we can most likely travel for free back to Düsseldorf thanks to the summer promotion of VRR/VRS.

Hiking from Halle to Bielefeld!
Aug 15 @ 10:45 am – 5:00 pm
Hiking from Halle to Bielefeld!

Hey! Looking out of the window and longing to go far? That might be impossible, but you should know that your neighborhood is just attractive and exciting! This time I’m proposing a hike from Halle to Bielefeld, following what’s called Hermannsweg!

Download kml / gpx

So the plan is quite simple: we’re gonna see each other in front of Bielefeld Hbf at 10:45am. Then:

  1. Dep: 11:03 Bielefeld Hbf – Platform 8 (NWB75583)
  2. Arr: 11:25 Halle(Westf) – Platform 2

Then we start hiking. Easy, isn’t it? If you come from a different city, feel free to join us wherever you want on the way! It’s inside the Westfalen-Tarif!

Then we’ll walk according to this map (in kml-format) or this map (in gpx-format). The total distance is something like 17.6 km. We’ll have a break at Peter auf’m Berge. It would be helpful if you’d bring something to eat and a picnic blanket.

Regardless of the weather, I will NOT cancel the event, so please check it out yourselves and decide whether to come or not yourselves.

This event is also organized on Meetup. Check it out from this page!

For further useful info read this (highly recommended).

Hope to see you there!

Coronavirus guideline: Following the local government instructions, please respect the social-distancing rule, i.e. from the beginning of the event till the end, a minimum distance of 1.5 m to any person in the group is required. In particular, this means:

  1. Don’t occupy two seats next to each other on the train
  2. If you bring a picnic blanket, don’t share it with other people
  3. Don’t share food or water
  4. If you go to a restaurant during break, local rules may apply. Please inform yourselves beforehand if you plan to go there.

Hiking around Lennep!

Hey! You missed the vacation for this year and are wondering you really missed something? Then you’re wrong, because there are so many possibilities to enjoy yourself in your neighborhood! This time I’m proposing a hike around Remscheid Lennep, a beautiful mountainous area on the edge of Sauerland!

Download kml / gpx

So the plan is as follows: we’re gonna see each other in front of Düsseldorf Hbf at 10:15am. Then:

  1. Dep: 10:40 Düsseldorf Hbf – Platform 7 (RE 10415)
  2. Arr: 11:08 Wuppertal-Oberbarmen – Platform 3
  3. Dep: 11:22 Wuppertal-Oberbarmen – Platform 6 (S 7)
  4. Arr: 11:37 Remscheid-Lennep – Platform 3

Then we start hiking. Easy, isn’t it? If you come from a different city, feel free to join us wherever you want on the way! It’s within the VRR region so if you have a Ticket 2000/Semester ticket/Young Ticket Plus, you can travel there for free. Even if you don’t it’s very likely that someone can take you for free so just be there in time!

Then we’ll walk according to this map (in kml-format) or this map (in gpx-format). The total distance is something like 16 km. We’ll have a break at Bornefeld. It would be helpful if you’d bring something to eat and a picnic blanket.

Regardless of the weather, I will NOT cancel the event, so please check it out yourselves and decide whether to come or not yourselves.

This event is also organized on Meetup. Check it out from this page!

Then we’ll walk according to this map (in kml-format) or this map (in gpx-format). The total distance is something like 16 km. We’ll have a break at Dreiländereck. It would be helpful if you’d bring something to eat and a picnic blanket.

Regardless of the weather, I will NOT cancel the event, so please check it out yourselves and decide whether to come or not yourselves.
