Hiking from Kippekausen to Bergisch Gladbach and Christmas market!
Hey! It’s getting really cold out there. Don’t you miss a good cup of Glühwein? Let’s get one with a lot of other cool people on a wonderful hike! This time we’re walking around this beautiful historical city of Bergisch Gladbach, where we’re gonna crash a local Christmas market!

So the plan is as follows: we’re gonna see each other in front of Düsseldorf Hbf at 10:30am. Then:
- Dep: 10:58 Düsseldorf Hbf – Platform 15 (RE 28513)
- Arr: 11:25 Köln Messe/Deutz – Platform 8
- Dep: 11:35 Deutz Bahnhof Deutz/Messe Lanxess Arena, Köln (STR 1)
- Arr: 11:53 Frankenforst Kippekausen, Bergisch Gladbach
Then we start hiking. Easy, isn’t it? If you come from a different city, feel free to join us wherever you want on the way! It’s not within the VRR region, but within NRW, so students can travel for free! Those who have a monthly ticket can travel there with an EinfachWeiterTicket!
Then we’ll walk according to this map (in kml-format) or this map (in gpx-format). The total distance is something like 13.4 km. We’ll have a break at Naturfreundehaus Hardt. It would be helpful if you’d bring something to eat and a picnic blanket.
Regardless of the weather, I will NOT cancel the event, so please check it out yourselves and decide whether to come or not yourselves.
